Recent fire incidents involving Mercedes Benz EQE and Hyundai EV6 have raised concerns about parking electric vehicles (EVs) in underground parking lots. While these concerns are understandable, it is crucial to consider the probability of fire and the degradation of EV batteries, which can be significantly higher when parked in outdoor lots during hot summer. Elevated temperatures can stress EV batteries, particularly NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) batteries, which are more susceptible to high-temperature conditions [1].

However, it's important to highlight that fire incidents in EVs are extremely rare.
